Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 29, 2026 | Last updated: April 29, 2026
Barefoot Solutions (“Barefoot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Barefoot mobile application (“App”) and related online services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information in connection with the Services. By using the Services, you agree to this policy and our practices described here.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
Data controller: Barefoot Solutions, operating the Barefoot Services.
Privacy inquiries:
barefootapphostingservices@gmail.com
For verified law-enforcement or regulatory correspondence only, include sufficient detail to identify the request
and lawful authority. We respond to privacy rights requests at the email above.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information generated through your use of the Services, and limited information from third parties as described below.
2.1 Account and identity
- Identifiers such as email address, name or display name, profile photo, and authentication identifiers when you sign up or sign in (including sign-in with third-party providers where you choose that option).
- Your preferences, notification settings, and similar account choices.
2.2 Social, community, and content features
- Feeds and posts: text, photos, videos, reactions, comments, mentions, and metadata needed to display content (such as timestamps).
- Families and homes: information you add about family membership, home locations you register (including coordinates when you place or confirm a pin), curfew or household preferences where applicable, and related invitations.
- Friends and visibility: connections you establish and visibility settings you select.
- Events and places: events you create or join, store or standalone listings, RSVPs, reviews, and related descriptions or media you submit.
- Maps: when you use map-based features, we process location and map interaction data as described in Section 2.5.
2.3 Messaging and calls
- Chat: messages, attachments, and delivery or read status where supported.
- Voice and video calls: signaling and session-related technical data required to connect calls between users; we do not record calls unless we expressly introduce optional recording in the App with separate consent.
2.4 Commerce and tokens
- Purchase receipts, product identifiers, subscription or token balances, and transaction references processed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing—we do not receive your full payment card number.
2.5 Location
- Precise or approximate location from your device when you grant permission and enable location-based features (for example maps, nearby stores or events, rides or routing, or optional location sharing with friends).
- If you disable location permissions, certain features may be unavailable or limited.
2.6 Health and activity (optional)
- If you connect Apple Health, Health Connect, or similar integrations and grant permission, we receive only the categories you authorize (for example step counts or activity summaries) for features that rely on that data.
2.7 Vehicles and mobility
- Vehicle or driver profile information you enter, ride requests or trip-related information where those features are available, and related safety or operational notices supported by the App.
2.8 Device, log, and diagnostic data
- Device type, operating system version, app version, IP address, approximate region derived from IP, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and security logs.
- Push notification tokens so we can deliver notifications you opt into.
2.9 Administrative accounts
- If your account has an elevated role (for example marketplace moderation), we process identifiers and audit-related activity tied to that role.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Create and maintain your account; authenticate you and secure the Services.
- Operate features you request (maps, feeds, messaging, calls, events, stores, families, health integrations where enabled, and related workflows).
- Personalize content and suggestions consistent with your settings.
- Send transactional communications (such as security alerts or essential service notices) and, where permitted, promotional messages with your consent or opt-out rights where required.
- Maintain safety and integrity, detect fraud and abuse, enforce our terms, and comply with law.
- Analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form to improve reliability and performance.
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)
Where GDPR or equivalent laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you; legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights (for example securing accounts and improving the Services); consent where required (such as certain notifications or optional processing); and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Disclosure of personal information
We may disclose personal information:
- To other users according to features you use (for example public posts, profile fields you expose, or optional location sharing).
- To service providers who assist us under contracts—for example cloud hosting, databases, email delivery, maps or routing providers, analytics that meet our instructions, payment processors through app stores, and customer-support tooling.
- For legal reasons: if we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce agreements; or to protect users, the public, or Barefoot.
- In corporate transactions: such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Certain disclosures for analytics or advertising, if introduced in the future, may be treated as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under U.S. state laws—we will describe them in-app and offer opt-outs where required.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary: for example, account data is kept until you delete your account (subject to reasonable backup and legal holds); messages and posts may persist according to feature design until you delete them or your account; logs may be retained for a shorter rolling window unless longer retention is justified for security or compliance.
7. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and the risks involved. No internet transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To submit a request, email barefootapphostingservices@gmail.com from your account email or describe how we can verify your identity. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If we deny a request, we will explain why subject to legal limits. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8.1 California residents
California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected, and may request deletion subject to exceptions. You may designate an authorized agent where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA rights.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to consent to data processing without parental authorization). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that age group. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. International data transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including countries that may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by regulators or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
11. Third-party services
The App may contain links to third-party sites or integrate third-party SDKs. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies before sharing information outside Barefoot.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or by email. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
